Buenos Aires Fantasy Dance Adventure

Our first stop in Rio de Janeiro is the famous Sugar Loaf mountain: ascending to the peak by cable car. Afterwards, as the sun sets, enjoy a cocktail party and take in the magnificent view before departing for a delicious seafood dinner and a relaxing evening.

Partake in a dance class at Gafieira, the place where at the end of the 19th century the lower classes would go to dance the Gafieira dance rhythms. Head downtown to the Estudantina Gafieira dance hall, founded in 1928. Then it’s time for a Brazilian barbecue dinner with sushi and seafood at the popular Porcao Rios.

Our next class is Lambada; the contagious rhythm that swept the world in the 90’s. Satiate your appetite with authentic Rio cuisine at Chopp. Your next stop after class is Feira de São Cristóvão, an open air pavilion with over 700 stalls selling everything from food, music, clothes and crafts with several stages throughout where musicians perform all day long.

We’re off to Argentina! After a short flight to Buenos Aires, it’s off to the elegant Sofitel Hotel. You have time to settle in before we gather for a casual evening of dinner and drinks.

Spend your day relaxing and enjoying the many sights. There is something for everyone! After sightseeing, get ready for Tango and Milonga classes and an evening out for dinner and a show!

As a group, we explore the Charcarita Cemetery, Carlos Gardel house and learn how he became one of the icons of Tango. Then we drive down Avenida De Mayo, the first big avenue with luxury hotels, famous for its Carnival and people dancing Tango on the street. A stop in the Abasto neighborhood for lunch at Los Inmortales and then we squeeze in one more dance class. The evening starts with dinner and drinks and a night at a dance hotspot practicing your new moves!

Following breakfast, we tour the Belle Époque-styled Palais de Glace and bask in the ambiance of the Evita Museum where we also stop for lunch. We stroll through picturesque Palermo Park on our way to our next tango lesson and then finish the day with dinner and dancing in San Telmo, the city’s oldest and most interesting neighborhood.

Start the day with a morning tango lesson followed by lunch at a local restaurant. We visit a local artist’s studio to learn about filetado, Argentina’s. After lunch, we visit to a local artist’s studio to learn about fileteado – a stylized artform of lines and flowers unique to Argentina. As a fitting end to our Samba Tango Fantasy, we attend the Gala Tango, one of the finest dance shows in the city.
